Share cdrom-drive permanently without disk inserted?

Hello everybody,

I´m sorry to bother you with this, but I´ve searched the net up and down without finding a solution
for this problem:
when I share a cdrom-drive permanently with Wfw 3.11, which got its drive letter from MSCDEX, I
always get an annoying error message from windows while starting up, when there is no cdrom inserted
at this moment: "drive D is unreadable" and later a second box, which tells me that only existent
devices can be shared.
Do you know a solution for this?
Sharing a floppy permanently without disk inserted is not a problem at all - strange.
Is it possible to "fake" the "CD is inserted"-status somehow? Or do you know of a Windows-internal
solution of this problem?
Many Thanks in advance!

Regards
Christoph

You know the "/s" switch in MSCDEX?

Yes, I'm using the "/s" switch already.
Accessing the shared cdrom works perfectly. The problem is that I'm forced to always have a disk
inserted when starting up windows to avoid this nasty error message. (Not a problem for me but for
our users...)
